Special Offer from Century Fitness and National Fitness

Within 24 hrs of us announcing the 50 Million Pounds Pilot Project, Century Fitness and National Fitness have stepped up to the plate with this special offer! Until 9pm, Monday, July 4th, you can get a FREE Gold Fitness Membership to either club if you’re within the first 100 enrolments!

These great organizations are not only committed to the wellness of their clients but also their community and as such, each of these locations are generously hosting an outdoor textile community collection bin that can be used by not only their clients, but members of the community to help contribute to our 50,000,000 pound goal.  Diverting 50 million pounds of textiles waste reduces CO2 by 200 million pounds.

Representatives from both organizations as well as TWD were at the http://www.ohcanadaribfest.ca this past weekend, to talk about healthy communities, healthy living and our partnership in the pilot.

We’ve also issued a challenge to other fitness clubs to join in the project, and host donation bins at their locations too.

“Century & National Fitness are a perfect example of how local businesses can support this pilot project and in turn support their local community and environment,” said Daniela Siggia, VP Development for TWD. “We look forward to other private sector and commercial partners coming forward as a result of their positive example.”

CANADA DAY Textile Waste

20200

Use Our Bins!

Use a clothing donation bin to recycle your clean, dry, odourless clothing and textiles!

Make Textile Recycling Work For You

If you are fundraising for your school, church, workplace, sports club or organizations such as Girl Guides, or Scouts, we can help arrange a textile collection to help you to raise money for your cause.

Downsize Your Wardrobe!

1 in 4 North American women own 7 pairs of jeans, but only wear 4 of them. Something to think about before your next clothing purchase.

Fix Your Own Clothes

Learn to sew! You don’t have to say goodbye to a favourite shirt just because of a little rip.

Donate! Even if it's Unwearable

Nothing goes to waste in the textile recycling industry. What cannot be reused is shredded, sanitized, and recycled into rags and upholstery.

Look for Quality

Shop at stores that use sustainable materials, organic cotton, and practice fair trade!

Think Long-Term

Buy classic clothes made to last and avoid purchasing too many pieces that follow trends and are low quality.

Swap Don't Shop!

Swap with a friend! Organize your own clothing swap, or attend an organized one.
